Despite its close proximity to Dubai, Oman couldn't be more different and many would argue that Oman offers a more authentic and cultural Arabian experience. With its mountainous terrain there is also a broader range of activities on offer, such as trekking, abseiling or rock climbing. Groups can also go dolphin or whale watching, see turtles hatching or have lunch in a genuine Bedouin village in addition to the usual activities of camel riding or desert banquets. Muscat is the capital city and provides a unique blend of old and new. To experience the city's well know sights we recommend a tour that includes a visit to the Grand Mosque, museums and the Muttrah Souk. If you prefer the outdoors, luxury camping experiences in the desert and mountains are a great option. Apart from the central conference hotels there are some good alternatives located only 15 minutes from Muscat; including resorts set in 124 acres of gardens with private beaches, a spa and an open-air amphitheatre seating 1,000.
