St Petersburg is a magical city that is rich with culture. It combines Russian heritage with a distinct European influence and is more commonly referred to as the 'Venice of the North' due to its palace-lined waterways. St Petersburg is located at the mouth of the Neva River on the Eastern shore of the Baltic Sea and offers endless opportunities for conference organizers. As a modern European center the city offers a choice of hotels with excellent conference facilities and a vibrant cultural life that is second to none. Most of the sites can be explored on foot and a visit to the State Hermitage Museum and the Mariinsky Theater is a must.
